‘Pamwechete’ is Shona for ‘Together’. Shona is one of the native languages of Zimbabwe. Our slogan ‘Together as One’ reflects our commitment to unity and community through being our own cultural representation and hosting community-building events.

PHILOSOPHY

FOUNDERS NOTE

Pamwechete was born from my desire for representation. As a Zimbabwean-born immigrant who grew up in Ireland, I’ve always sought deeper connections to my roots while finding ways to share my culture and heritage with others. I love experiencing different cultures through music, food, art, history, and storytelling. I’d see ‘African Culture’ celebrated but didn’t always feel as if my personal experiences were represented. I then realised that maybe it was because I wasn’t celebrating and promoting it enough.

Pamwechete is my way of bridging that connection—bringing a piece of me to a piece of you to create something beautiful together. I founded Pamwechete to be my own representation and would love to inspire you to be your own. Pamwechete isn’t really about me, its about all of us as a collective.
